Covid-19 Update

Kia ora!
Applications are still open for Girls Rock! Pōneke!
In light of current events, we may not be able to deliver the programme we originally intended, however, we still aim to deliver an inspiring programme for all who apply!

We will continue to take the advice of the Ministry of Health and are looking into some cool and exciting ideas of how we can still rock out in July. We will continue to update all applicants of the type of programme we will deliver as we move forward.

Last year’s programme was out of this world fun, with participants travelling from as far afield as Kaikoura and Whanganui to attend. There is a buzz of excitement around the forward-thinking programme which aims to provide a space for creativity and inclusivity in which music can flourish.

Run by a wondrous team of New Zealand’s finest woman, trans and non-binary identifying musicians, the July school holidays will see Girls Rock! Pōneke take place at Massey University. Join us from the 6th-11th of July for instrument lessons, super fun workshops, songwriting and lots of band practice. Then, after the hard work is done we host a showcase of the freshly formed bands and their vibing new songs at the end of the week.

Whatever you play, and however you play it – we’d love for you to join us for a week making music and rocking out! All skill levels, music tastes and interests are warmly welcome at Girls Rock! Pōneke.
